Science experiments for children – Fog in a jar.The purpose of this experiment is to observe the formation of fog.
Science experiments for children – Fog in a jar
version 1
The easiest way to make the fog in jar is to fill a glass jar with warm water, dip a lighted match after keeping it inside a few seconds, then cover the jar with a bag of ice, as shown in this video:

version 2
A more complex variant involves the use of: a glass jar, warm water colored with food coloring, matches, a bag of ice, a strip of black paper to be placed on the rear wall of the jar to improve the vision of the interior.

What happens?
The hot water heats the air layer that touches, in part it evaporates and goes upward.
There he meets the ice, so it condenses remaining suspended in the air.
This is what happens in nature, when water vapor in the air condenses into water droplets around condensation nuclei (particles of dust, ash, pollutants, salt), forming the fog.
